The Central Coast is the State's most diverse area. Dramatic ocean vistas, sculpted cliffs, charming small towns, rich agricultural lands, and sophisticated resort communities are all part of the fabric that is the central coast. It can generally be divided into three parts. The
first part is the region between Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo,
which is classic Spanish country. The second is the wild Big
Sur coastline north of Morro Bay, and the third is the region dominated by Monterey and Salinas. The Central Coast is one of the most picturesque regions in the state and has been immortalized by the photographs of Ansel Adams and Edward Weston. |
