FREE TOMATO EXTRAVAGANZA AT SAN LUIS OBISPO BOTANICAL GARDEN Savor the joys of Americas favorite homegrown fruit, the versatile and beloved tomato on Saturday, September 13th. The Tomato Extravaganza is presented by the University of California Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners, hosted at the San Luis Obispo Botanical Gardens Fall Plant Sale from 10am-2pm. Participants will taste and vote their choices of myriad varieties of tomatoes and basil and listen to mini presentations on growing and using the produce. This is a family event and children will enjoy creating their very own "Tomato Heads". Edible and Mediterranean plants will be available for purchase. San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden is located in the El Chorro Regional Park off Highway 1 across from Cuesta College. The park charges $2 per vehicle entrance fee.
